Tall, dark, and lethal…

Trouble just walked into Nicholas Rixey’s tattoo parlor. Becca Merritt is warm, sexy, wholesome–pure temptation to a very jaded Nick. He’s left his military life behind to become co-owner of Hard Ink Tattoo, but Becca is his ex-commander’s daughter. Loyalty won’t let him turn her away. Lust has plenty to do with it too.

With her brother presumed kidnapped, Becca needs Nick. She just wasn’t expecting to want him so much. As their investigation turns into all-out war with an organized crime ring, only Nick can protect her. And only Becca can heal the scars no one else sees.

Desire is the easy part. Love is as hard as it gets. Good thing Nick is always up for a challenge…

My Thoughts

This is like the third time I read this book and every time I read this book it just gets better for me. I loved all that suspense and romance in the mitts off all the danger. I love contemporary romance but I actually love reading romantic suspense books. I have so much love for Nick and Becca. Becca is my type of girl, I mean she is strong and good hearted and even though her brother was missing she was still standing strong instead of rocking in a corner. I did not like Nick at first because he turned Becca down the moment she mentioned help for her brother. Thankfully Nick listened to his gut and went to check out for Becca’s safety.tumblr_nsxyvr77ib1qlgbzbo1_500

So what is this book about??

Becca went to Hard Ink Tattoo shop because Charlie sent a message to her to find Nick for help. At first he did not want to help her because she was a Merritt and the last Merritt he worked for doubled crossed him and his team and was forced to leave the military. Loyalty did not let him walk away from her though. He went to go check on her and he started asking questions. Thankfully he saved her when someone broke into her house and together they found out how dangerous her life has become.  That made him call his old Special Forces team and together they found out that what Charlie got them into was an all-out war with an organized crime ring. They just did not care how dangerous it can get because they are men with honor and they want to clear their names.

These two have a lot of sexual chemistry and the desire to be together but Becca is scared to think about anything other than Charlie but thankfully for us they could not stay away from each other. Becca found out what her farther did and instead of thinking the worst of the team, she believed them. That is obviously the right choice and she is helping them as much as they can to clear their names. I loved all the characters in this book. I admire all of the men and trust me I loved Jeremy with all that t-shirts of his.tumblr_inline_nqvrv0cckb1rol1w1_500

The gif says it all… I truly love Nick and he is just perfect for Becca!

Anyway if you have not read this book yet then trust me you need to. I have reread this book a few times now and I just know I will reread it. This book has the right amount of passion, romance and suspense. And another thing this cover is amazing.

Nick wanted to claim her and possess her and climb so far inside her heat that he’d forget about all the shit in his head. He wanted her writhing under him and boneless with pleasure and crying his name out loud. He wanted her seeking safety in his arms and comfort from his hands. He spun the chair around to face her. She reared back on her knees and her gaze flew up to his. He shook his head, competing desires warring inside him. To possess her and protect her. To be honest and shield her from hurt. To do the right thing and do what felt right. Damnit, he needed her. On a groan, he reached out, grasped her neck, and hauled her up to him. Rixey consumed her with the kiss, pouring every bit of his gratitude and desire into the movement of his lips, his tongue, his hands. She moaned in surprise, and he devoured that, too. God, she smelled of warm vanilla and tasted of mint. Little needful whimpers and sighs and gasps spilled out around their lips, and he reveled in every last note of her pleasure, of her desire. He pulled her closer and penetrated her more deeply with his tongue. The damn backrest separated them, but he couldn’t let her go long enough to rectify the problem. “God, sunshine, what are you doing to me?” he rasped around the edge of a kiss.
